ok, so i just finished the most basic port of kopete to the model view stuff for Qt 4. It was stupid easy. I had a completely broken (but still displaying info) view in like two hours.
Obligatory screenshot is below. Only one of my test accounts is shown. Massively broken but still cool.

I think it would look better if you got rid of the redundant borders around the white box on all sides except the bottom. It doesn’t make sense to have a widget’s border immediately touching the window’s border.
