The new model view stuff for Kopete is coming along quite nicely. We have metacontact names and icons now. 
Next is to figure out how to get the metacontacts to display the contact icon or the generic head icon correctly rather than the question mark icon there. Another screenshot (the blurring of the names is my doing, and i didn’t blur my own name.)

Will there be some discussion about the default look of the Kopete contact list? Currently in KDE 3.5, I have configured Kopete not to show the tree branch lines and not to use indentation, and I use the detailed view with contact photo. Much nicer IMO, as it makes it much more easier to recognise users, and view their away messages etc.

Hello,
I like the new style with the oxygen icons very much. It looks more “grown-up”.
My idea for the Main Toolbar Buttons Text:
Instead of “Set Status” -> “Status”
Instead of “Set Status Message” -> “Status Message”
Instead of “Add contact” -> “Add”
Instead of “Show Offline Users” -> “Offline Users”
Instead of “Show Empty Groups” -> “Empty Groups”
