  • work. fixed more bugs in the GUI order entry.
  • Doctor for S. in the mid-morning - everything checked out fine. Looks like we got a normal healthy baby. :)
  • Home late in the evening due to the doctor's appointment. Had to restore iPod's software since it decided to go bonkers sometime before my leaving work. Dealt with S. who was a bit cranky from the shots.
  • Looked at email before going to bed. Replied to a few things

  • off to work at the normal time. traffic was nice and light. poked at a few bugs in the graphical order entry system. fixed a few of them.
  • home later than normal, trying to make up time for the long lunch I took yesterday. S. was her normal self - fussy - but still very cute. :)
  • irc in the evening after C. and S. were both in bed. Spent some time in #kde-bugs talking to blauzahl about kopete bug triage. If you're looking for a way to contribute, that's a great start. All you need is a recent version of svn trunk, and some time. The bugsquad page on Techbase will give you more info.
  • Also managed to get various git-svn repos that I had cloned updated and built. we'll see if this yields any results in terms of code.

reviewboard is fixed

If you've been trying to get to the reviewboard and haven't had any luck, you should now be able to get there. I tried to do an upgrade and apparently, the upgrade process failed me, so reviewboard was down nearly a week while I tried to get it back up and running. Hopefully we won't have any more problems.

Also, if you're still trying to access reviewboard via http://matt.rogers.name, you'll need to update your bookmarks to point to http://mattr.info:8080 instead. I lost my domain name when the registrar's billing system went down around the same time I was supposed to renew my domain, and they refused to answer my emails about getting it renewed.  I had to move the port to 8080 because we have verizon now, and they are either blocking port 80 even though i port forwarded it or there's something else I forgot to disable.

For almost a year now, I've been working at Pizza Hut as a software developer on the point of sale team. It's an awesome place to work (listed as one of the top 25 places to work in Dallas, TX) and now, if you want, you can work there too!

So here's the specifics on what will help you get in the door:

  • Able to move to Dallas
  • Have experience with C, C++, and Qt on Linux
  • Experience with Point of Sale systems is a plus

The online job posting can be seen at CareerBuilder.com. If you're interested, please send me an email I'll be glad to help you get your foot in the door.

Add one to the mix

So, as mentioned earlier, we moved to a new house on March 21st. On April 4th, Sarah was born. Here's the obligatory picture:
